José Alberich is a partner with A.T. Kearney focused on energy and process industries. He has 29 years of experience working in chemicals, oil and gas, and utilities.
José started his career working in R&D and technology in O&G and chemicals in 1990. He was an active player in the liberalization of the energy markets and in the launch of the initial energy efficiency programs in Europe. In solar technologies in particular, after the regulatory volatility at the beginning of the last decade, he worked with the European associations of PV (EPIA) and CSP (Estela), as well as with other agencies (ARE) and private companies in the design of regulatory frameworks and market and technology plans.
José served initially clients in Europe, North America and Latin America. Since 2007, he is dedicated to working with global and regional Middle East companies and government entities.
José has also significant experience in manufacturing and industrial maintenance, network design and supply chain, sourcing, trading and risk management. Over the last years, he has intensified his dedication to localization and economic and industrial development in GCC countries, merging this with his renewable energies expertise in an effort to promote growth of solar and evolution of the new energy mix in the region.
He holds a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from the Universitat Ramón Llull, Barcelona and an MBA from IESE, Universidad de Navarra. He has published numerous articles and is often quoted in leading technical and economic publications.
