Fazil is an energy, climate change and sustainability professional with over 11 years of experience. Currently he is Manager with EY’s MENA Climate Change and Sustainability Services team. Fazil holds an M.Sc in Electrical Power Engineering from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology (UAE) in collaboration with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA). Fazil has worked closely with region’s governments and corporates in setting up energy strategies, green economy frameworks and climate change resilience plans.

He is one of the first International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) scholars and was awarded ‘Young Future Energy Leader (YFEL)’ by Masdar.  Fazil introduced the concept of ‘Demand Response Mismatch’ to the research world, which is published in the IEEE Journal of Smart grids. For developing the concept of 'Self-sufficient villages employing renewable energy', he was awarded by the Agency for Non-Conventional Energy and Rural Technology (ANERT) India. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a Certified Measuring and Verification Professional (CMVP).
